10. Take a Hot Bath
While our previous entry rightfully encourages you to go for a daily walk, we know that sometimes you don’t have the time, the inclination, or the weather makes it difficult. Well, you can just run a bath instead. This may sound strange as you are just lying in hot water, but a recent study revealed some interesting results.
In the Loughborough-Leicester Diet, Lifestyle and Physical Activity Biomedical Research Unit (BRU), Dr. Steve Faulkner and colleagues found that taking an hour-long soak in a hot bath (40˚C – 104°F) burns as many calories as if you had gone for a 30-minute walk. The study also found that it may help improve inflammation and blood sugar levels.
