10 Most Devastating Fires and Explosions in U.S. History

Whether it’s down to the power of nature, human error, or just pure evil, apart from the terrifying destructive force of a nuclear blast, when fire and explosions are involved their destructive force can not only cost billions in damages but claim the lives of thousands of innocent people.

And sadly, the United States has had a long history of such tragic events. From thousands of acres being scorched by ever-increasing temperatures or careless workers, to badly maintained machinery to a day no American will ever forget, here we take a look back at some of the most destructive and deadly fires and explosions in U.S. history.
