The thunderstorms and tornadoes that ripped across the central and southern U.S. late in the evening of December 10, 2021, were a stark reminder of just how devastating Mother Nature can be. By December 18, NOAA’s National Weather Service had confirmed a total of 61 tornadoes, but that wasn’t the most shocking revelation.
