14 Worst Train Wrecks in History

You might be tricked into thinking that train travel is actually safer than air travel, but that’s not true. According to a 2013 study, traveling by train is the second safest way of traveling. There have been 0.43 deaths per billion passenger miles.

Even so, air travel comes first, with 0.07 deaths per billion passenger miles. This doesn’t mean that train travel is dangerous. In fact, it’s exactly the opposite. Unfortunately, when train accidents happen, they might cost the lives of way too many people. That’s why we’ve decided to find out what were the worst train accidents that ever happened throughout history, and why.
