7 Small Armies That Devastated Larger Foes

We’ve all heard the biblical tale of David and Goliath, and who doesn’t love a good underdog story. It becomes much more fascinating when those stories involve entire armies rather than individuals, AND they are historically accurate.

There are stories throughout history and from across the globe where small armies faced insurmountable odds and were expected to fail drastically, but that’s not the case for the battles listed here. When small, poor, or otherwise powerless nations and ethnicities are faced with total annihilation, they really can pull something special out of the bag and end up defeating an army multiple times their size.

So here we take a look through history to tell you the incredible story of how these tiny forces managed to destroy much bigger foes.
