Florida’s governor warned the state to prepare for a possible “major disaster”, given that category two Hurricane Ian gathered forces in the Caribbean. Strong winds started hitting Cuba’s south coast on Monday night. Ian is about to make landfall on Florida’s west coast around Wednesday.
The hurricane’s precise path is still uncertain. However, Governor Ron DeSantis warned everybody about the “broad impacts throughout the state”. Residents have started to stock up on food, water, medicine, and fuel. Some parts of the state haven’t seen a hurricane of this magnitude in over a century.
