Unfortunately, it seems that the Republican Party’s way of doing politics has become a threat to American democracy. In theory, both American parties are supposed to have a strong democratic foundation. In practice, things have changed.
The GOP has become radical, obstructionist, and hostile to anything that relates to the most basic democratic norms. Now, their philosophy is that the party that wins the elections should use its power as a weapon. Against who…Americans? I know what it looks like: A couple of years ago, we would have all agreed that this speech belongs to a Democratic fanatic.
