Infectious diseases are definitely one of the most frightening weapons that ever existed. Just the thought of an invisible, creeping death that will almost certainly cause you to bleed from places you would rather not bleed is far worse than the thought of getting shot.
Luckily, the US Army has its Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases to combat the weaponization and development of viruses and superbugs. Since the 1960s, USAMRIID has served at the forefront of disease research, testing to prevent Mother Nature, terrorists, or anyone else from developing biological weapons against the US and its allies.
