10 Most Devastating Tornadoes In US History

The thunderstorms and tornadoes that ripped across the central and southern U.S. late in the evening of December 10, 2021, were a stark reminder of just how devastating Mother Nature can be. By December 18, NOAA’s National Weather Service had confirmed a total of 61 tornadoes, but that wasn’t the most shocking revelation. The fact that there are such events so late in the year reminds us that climate change has a devastating impact on the nation.

But this isn’t the first time (and certainly won’t be the last) that numerous tornadoes have cut a swath of destruction across multiple states, injuring and killing thousands of American citizens and costing the taxpayer billions in damages.
