Should we be concerned?
Doctors were concerned about the XBB because some lab studies suggested that antibodies produced by the vaccines were having problems in this variety. But all the evidence shows, as we already said, that these immune-evading variants did not cause severe illnesses.
Experts believe that all of this widespread immunity, whether from the shots or previous virus infections, is benefiting the people and making them more resilient.
Even though the antibodies do not keep us immune to the virus, they do protect us from it and lessen our chances of catching it. It also lowers the probability of serious illness and hospitalization.

Normally once you get something like covid, you gain immunity for decades. But it appears the mRNA vax prevented immunity and you can get it over and over, forever.
