But before the new members managed to take their oaths of office, then-Senate Majority Leader-elect Mitch McConnell made a promise to never set off a government shutdown.
Moreover, people believe that a particular event relieved the biggest pressure the GOP could have enforced against then-president Barack Obama.
5. 2017 and the Obamacare
Some political analysts say that these 4 things we’ve previously discussed aren’t the only mistakes the GOP has made through the years. They say that the White House and congressional Republicans made their biggest mistake under the rule of Trump.
It seems that the things they didn’t do properly were their failure to pass the repeal of Obamacare in 2017 and their absence of any radical plan to restore the ACA, even if it was completely canceled.
However, the biggest damage was done in 2018 during the midterm elections, when voters said that they thought the biggest problem in the country was health care.
It didn’t matter what the Republicans in Congress and Donald Trump’s administration did to address increasing healthcare costs in the period that followed, because this was a major error throughout those 4 years Trump was in office.

I like that statement, “experts say the GOP is weaker.” The dems and their ‘make believe’ experts. Look what you, and your ilk, have done to the US. We haven’t felt the consequences of terrorists crossing the border. When they start, make no mistake, they will start, many people will die. Good Lord sad days are coming; it Wonder how many millions the president of Ukraine is saving for joe & son. It will get much worse with kamala and Walz the thief.
The Republican Party is guilty of aiding and abetting the criminal activities of the democrat party. The GOP would rather be losers and stay in second place, than stand up for what’s right. When the democrats assassinated Lincoln after the Civil War, the Republicans reacted by welcoming the party of assassins into the political fold with open arms. When the democrats instituted Jim Crow laws and made the South a treacherous place for blacks, the Republicans did nothing. When the democrats almost succeeded in assassinating Donald Trump, the Republicans have done nothing, and in fact, have nothing while the democrats have persecuted Trump for the past ten years. The enemy within which Trump refers to is his own party. We already know what the democrats are up to. We haven’t been paying attention to the scalawags on the right.
