1. The plastic wrapped blankets are never new!
Unfortunately, this is true! According to one or more members of the flight crew, most blankets that are provided to passengers aren’t quite brand new. Unsurprising or not, only a small portion of these blankets are adequately cleaned and disinfected because they are only washed if they have really difficult or stubborn stains. Ugh gross! If you are one of those lucky passengers who is about to get their hands on a nice-smelling, freshly washed blanket, then I envy you!
Another thing that bugs me is that I traveled with a lot of airlines that charged me extra for using the blankets. If I only knew back then…
