This 1974 neo-noir mystery crime thriller stars the ever-watchable Jack Nicholson as a hard-boiled but reluctant private investigator who is constantly way over his head and Faye Dunaway as the daughter of the antagonist, wealthy businessman Noah Cross (played by John Huston), who hires Nicholson to follow her apparently adulterous husband but is herself hiding a terrible secret.
