Breathing becomes harder and harder to do on your own and a test of your arterial blood shows that the oxygen levels in your blood are critically low. Next is intubation, where the doctors put a tube down your throat and into your windpipe so the ventilator can pump air with extra oxygen more effectively into your lungs.
You are sedated and effectively paralyzed so you can be fed through a tube and you are also fitted with a Foley catheter and a rectal tube. As well as bathing you, the staff will turn your body on a regular basis in order to prevent the development of bedsores. You will also be laid on your stomach as that position allows for better oxygenation. Tragically, this is the stage that some people don’t get past.

This article seems to tell it like it is. I am just recovered from covid and thank God, never went to hospital Went to a walk-in with bad cough, chest pain, weakness and hard to breathe. They started me on steroids and antibiotics, and did a covid test. Called next day, it was positive, need to call pc doctor. She agreed with the meds and continued them as well as sending me for 4 shots for antibodies. It was terrible to go thru but I had the two shot vaccine in March and feel that is why it never got any worse. You don’t want to chance this, do what ever you need to do to stay well.

If you happen to survive the treatment, at whatever point, what happens next? I assume there is more treatments of some sort is required.
