The B-83, which was designed to be dropped from a bomber, produces 1.2 megatons of explosive energy, which is the equivalent to one million two hundred thousand tons of TNT. To put this in perspective, the bombing attack on Hiroshima following the end of World War ll was almost 80 times more powerful.
It is, without a doubt, the most destructive freefall weapon in the US inventory.

The absurdity of the whole nuclear weapon growth premise is astounding, how many times over does the threat of extinction of all life on earth cease to be anything but a redundant intimidation at huge expense? Dead is dead, after the initial exchange of warheads it will not matter to a burned out cinder floating in a lifeless barren solar system. How’s that for a pleasant Good Morning?!
