How To Prepare For A Storm (cont.)
If you have trees in your yard, make sure they are trimmed back as falling branches and boughs, or even uprooted trees can be hugely destructive. Call a qualified tree surgeon if you think the job might be too much for you. It may cost you money, but it’s a safer option and will cost you more if you don’t do it.
Storms can come with power cuts, ones that could potentially last for days. So make sure you have an emergency kit ready at all times. Your storm kit should include medications, a torch, portable radio, spare batteries, a first-aid kit, food and drinking water supplies, extra blankets, and clothing. If you have any essential documents you want to keep safe, then store them in waterproof containers.
With the signs we have provided, you should have plenty of time to prepare for the worst. Stay vigilant and stay safe.
