4. Les Harvey
We continue with our short list of celebrities who died while they were on stage by saying a couple of words about musician Les Harvey. The fantastic guitarist of the ’70s blues-rock band Stone the Crows died on stage in front of no less than 1,000 people who came there to support the band and to see them play.
The band wanted to perform at Swanseaโs Top Rank Ballroom on a gloomy day in May 1972, and nobody had any idea that a tragedy was bound to happen.
The band, which was managed by Peter Grant of Led Zeppelin, was getting ready to perform and make the fans happy when Harvey touched a microphone that wasn’t earth-grounded and was electrocuted.
People tried to unplug the microphone, thinking that he might have a chance to survive, but the 28-year-old musician was pronounced dead at the scene.
