3. Cory Lidle
Cory Lidle was a right-handed pitcher and a talented sportsman who spent the years 1997–2006 in Major League Baseball with the New York Mets, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, and New York Yankees.
Sadly, our beautiful America lost one of its most appreciated pitchers when, on October 11th, 2006, Lidle was killed when his jet collided with a skyscraper in Manhattan. The pilot who had been teaching Lidle to fly was also among those who lost their lives. He will be forever missed.

There are many more than these that have lost their lives in aircraft accidents. John Denver, Alliyah, Stevie Ray Vaughn, etc.
