The Sinking Ofย The Titanic
After finally embarking on her first voyage on April 12th, 1912, the most lavish luxury liner of its time sank into the ocean after slamming into an iceberg. The Titanic wasn’t just any ordinary cruise ship.
Boasting an incredible length of 882ft and with a maximum capacity of 3,547 passengers, this was the ship that beat all ships at the time. The vessel was famously touted as being “unsinkable.”
But sadly, it met its demise scarcely a third into its journey from Newfoundland, England, on its way to New York. On that devastating night, around 1,500 of the 2,224 people on board passed away in the icy waters of the Atlantic.
Nowadays, the remains of the Titanic lie at the bottom of the ocean, with the dream of a first voyage that never saw shore again.
