How severe is the Kraken variant?
1st of all, experts say that the new Kraken can spread even faster than its predecessors and is obviously more infectious. Here’s what the media says: more than 75% of all cases are now the cause of this variety, and it’s spreading quickly across the Northeast. Moreover, it’s believed that roughly 40% of cases throughout the country are due to this strain.
However, there’s some good news in the Midwest, where the percentage is far lower, at only 6%. Experts said there has been no change in symptoms with the new variety. However, they did say that people who have been immunized and given a boost are less likely to have flu-like symptoms.
Those who haven’t kept up with their vaccinations are more prone to severe symptoms. Doctors said that they’re finding more and more patients who simply have cold-like symptoms and are less likely to have those flu-like symptoms or high fevers, especially if their vaccinations are up-to-date.
