4. Steve Irwin
Steve Irwin, the famous “crocodile hunter”, was known for his close-up and personal approach to filming animals in their natural habitats. He was pronounced dead on the 4th of September 2006, after he approached a stingray that reacted badly and attacked him with the tail barb.
At first, they thought that it was only a punctured lung, but some of the crew members quickly came to the conclusion that his injuries were actually very serious. They performed CPR and brought him to the shore, but realized that the barb had pierced his heart. The attack was captured on camera, but it was deleted by Queensland Police to respect the family’s privacy.
