3. Michigan
The third state on our list is Michigan, where, in 2020, for example, there were more than 40,000 crime incidents. The numbers are worrying, especially if they increase year after year. The state’s three most violent cities are Kalamazoo, Saginaw, and Detroit. Detroit reported 14,509 murders in 2021, significantly more than other cities of a similar size.

4. New Mexico
Ranked as one of the most dangerous states in the entire country, New Mexico stands pretty high up there. Mostly known for its violent and terrible crimes, New Mexico had more than 12,000 violent incidents in 2021, of which 2,000 were burglaries. If you happen to have a car or a bigger mansion, you may want to be extra careful with them since property crime is pretty high here too.
For example, cities like Farmington, Albuquerque, and Gallup are among the worst cities in the state! Sheesh, I wouldn’t even dare to walk there.
