4. Franklin D. Roosevelt
The 32nd president of the United States was nearly killed on February 15th, 1933. The incident happened at a presidential candidate rally in Miami’s Bay Front Park.
The politician dropped down into his seat after addressing a gathering from the top of an open car’s back seat. All of a sudden, the crowd heard shots fired. Guiseppe Zangara, an unemployed bricklayer, shot five shots at FDR. He was distracted by someone in the crowd and killed Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak and injured four people. Guiseppe Zangara received a death sentence after being found guilty of the shooting.
