5. Harry S. Truman
In November 1950, while Truman was staying at Blair House, two shooters broke in. The 33rd president escaped unharmed, but a White House policeman and one of the attackers were killed in a gunfight, and two other White House police officers were hurt.
The second shooter, Oscar Callazo was detained and given a death sentence. Truman didn’t agree with this sentence, so in 1952, he changed it to life in prison. He was released in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter.
