States where tornadoes are common!
The list is made every year after we look at the collected data from the year before. And since spring has just started, we can say that tornado season is upon us again, as they are most common in spring and summer. It is important to know which states experience these weather events so that if you are a resident, you will not only be prepared in case there is a tornado alert near your home but also know what to keep an eye out for when you are visiting other states during the warm months.
Florida comes in at number five when it comes to the number of tornadoes they had last year. They recorded 73 tornadoes over the whole year and, unfortunately, have also caused two deaths. Since it is not uncommon for tornadoes to form in the wake of a hurricane and even during one, it is important for Floridians and people visiting to keep an eye on their tornado alerts.
Next on the list, at number 4, we have Minnesota. The state has broken into the top 10, as two years ago they only recorded 37 tornadoes. Now, the Land of 10,000 Lakes has had a massive increase, going up to 77 tornadoes last year! That is a 208% increase from one year to another, so if you are visiting them this year, watch out for tornadoes!
