5. Trash bags
Trash bags don’t take up a lot of space, and they are fantastic to have in a survival kit. If you decide to add them to your kit, choose the contractor-grade bags. They are of much better quality because they are more solid, and you can count on them in case of an emergency.
You can do a lot with some trash bags, but their main purpose is to keep things dry during rainy days. You can use them to make yourself a poncho, or you can take multiple trash bags and use them when building the roof of your shelter. This way, you make sure the water won’t get inside.
Since they are bags, you can also use them to carry things around. You can store your stuff in them or materials that you have around the camp.
