2. Chennai – Rameswaram Route, India
Wow! This one, as dangerous as it appears, is also very beautiful. The Chennai-Rameswaram route, inaugurated in 1914, spans a 2065-meter stretch of water. The Chennai-Rameswaram train line travels via the Pamban Bridge, the world’s most unsafe railroad bridge, from Chennai to Rameswaram. The creaky bridge that sways with the train as it crosses the choppy sea is, according to passengers who have taken this route, the worst part of the ride. If this hasn’t scared you, in 1964 there was an accident here on this route. A terrible cyclone managed to sink an entire train full of passengers!
