We have access to a lot of information nowadays, so we do know a lot of things about HIV/AIDS and its transmission. But when the epidemic began in the 1980s, researchers didn’t know much about it. The virus was first identified in the United States of America in 1981, and it killed more than 700,000 people.
This disease was known by the appellation “gay cancer” due to the fact that it affected plenty of bisexual and gay men. People get infected with this through intimate activity or blood contact with a patient. Nowadays, treatment for this disease has improved a lot, and doctors know a lot of methods on how to prevent HIV from progressing to AIDS.

I had polio in buffalo ny in sept 1939 , ,i am still here and 90 yrs old. was admitted to buffalo city hospital which changed at that time to Myers Memorial which is now ( i think) ECMC,I was in the hospital for 5 years straight–polio (iron lung) had TB-tuburqlosis and I am still here ,thank the dear lord and my nurses and doctors
