How do you prepare for a hurricane?
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) declared that it should expect a “fast strengthening” from Ian in the next 48 hours, as it seems to be inches north from its current location 130 west of Cuba.
As Florida’s Governor added in a Monday news conference, “it’s a really big hurricane at this point”. At the same time, he urged residents to “stay calm”, but “prepare for the unexpected.” The governor officially declared a state of emergency for all Florida residents over the weekend, and has activated 5,000 National Guard troops to assist with additional relief efforts.
