Many Belarusians may still have a negative view of America due to tensions during the Cold War, as is the case in many other former Soviet Union nations. Even more, after Russia annexed Crimea, the United States backed up Ukraine, and this might have accentuated the hatred of Belarus and other neighboring countries for the US.
The country is still a friend of Russia, and this for sure has something to do with all of the Belarusians who dislike America. Also, the poor economy and all the economic struggle might be another factor that influences this country’s opinion of the US.
