What are the most prevalent variants in the US?
From all of the available data, we can see clearly that the most prevalent variants are omicron and its descendants. If this continues to happen, there is a pretty high chance that COVID-19 will become the new flu. By this, we mean it will become a seasonal illness that will be more predictable and maybe easier to control.
However, as we said before, this is only the case if there will never be another new mutation that can lead to new variants. If a new variant is born and it manages to climb its way to the top, we will witness another surge of illness.

Normally once you get something like covid, you gain immunity for decades. But it appears the mRNA vax prevented immunity and you can get it over and over, forever.
