1. Shaking hands, hugging a friend, kissing a cheek

As Dr. Fauci suggests, the handshake as a greeting might be a thing of the past. However, so might hugging or even the continental greeting of kissing on the cheek. Although people tend to turn their faces away while hugging, there is still a risk because of close contact.

So what will be the new norm? The elbow bump seems to be used more and more often nowadays, or perhaps waving from a distance? The way we greet each other has remained the same for millennia, so this might be a hard habit to break, but the alternative in this new coronavirus world doesn’t bear thinking about.
