There were several assassination attempts on our presidents, and this time it’s all about Ronald Reagan. The 40th American leader was leaving a speech in Washington, D.C. when he was shot by a man in the crowd named John Hinckley Jr.

The incident took place in March 1981, and the politician recovered quickly. Unfortunately, three other people were shot that day, including his press secretary, James Brady, who was partially paralyzed as a result.

The shooter was arrested, but the jury didn’t find him guilty because of his insanity, so they sent him to a mental hospital. He was freed in 2022 after court officials said that he was no longer a danger to himself or other people.
