John F. Kennedy

Former President John F. Kennedy was known as America’s darling. He was charming, young, and idealistic. Many people in our country welcomed him with open arms, mainly due to his New Frontier domestic policies and anti-Communist foreign policy. JFK was assassinated in November 1963 in Dallas, Texas.

His death shocked the entire nation, and it was one of the most headlined events in our history. It’s also one of the only assassinations caught on TV, creating many conspiracy theories. Even though he only served less than three years in office, he’s unfailingly ranked as one of the most popular presidents in American history.

Lee Harvey Oswald, the man responsible, was arrested but was killed before he could be tried. Many have viewed this as part of a more comprehensive cover-up and a sign of conspiracy. John F. Kennedy’s assassination cast a long shadow and had a huge cultural impact on the US. In fact, his successor, President Johnson, passed a lot of the legislation set in place during Kennedy’s administration.
