1. Low Cloud Base
If you happen to live in a mountainous area, you should keep an eye out for thick, dark clouds hugging the mountain ridges and peaks. If the clouds are low, it is an indicator that the temperature is soon to drop as the air is saturated with moisture, which means that not only will rain or snow soon be upon you, but the downfall is most likely going to last all day and night.
So, if you happen to see these conditions on the lower part of the mountainside, either hunker down in your tent with a good book (you’ll be there for a while) or just get as far away from the mountain as you can.
