Kashmir Earthquake
The Kashmir earthquake happened on 8 October 2005, at 08:50:39 PST, within the Pakistani region of Azad Kashmir. Its epicenter was near the town of Muzaffarabad, but it also impacted the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan and the Jammu and Kashmir region of the Indian state.
The earthquake registered a very short moment degree of 7.6, but then it had an optimum Mercalli Intensity of 8 (which is severe). Even more, the earthquake affected some countries in the proximity, as the tremors were deeply felt in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Chinese Xinjiang.
