Yitzhak Rabin

Rabin was the fifth Prime Minister of Israel, serving two terms in office, 1974 to 77, and from 1992 to 1995. And it would be after his re-election to the second term he would really get to grips with the Israeliโ€“Palestinian peace process. Unfortunately for him, not everyone welcomed peace and would do anything to stop it.

Rabin had been attending a mass rally at the Kings of Israel Square (now Rabin Square) in Tel Aviv on the evening of 4 November 1995, when Amir walked up behind him and shot him twice in the back.
