You’re probably thinking that it’s been over 100 years since that devastating disaster, but the truth is that tragedies can happen anytime and anywhere, including in today’s world.

Of course, if we compare the cruise ships that were available a century ago to the ones that we see nowadays, we can say that the new ones are stronger, bigger, and connected to advanced technology. But as good as this information sounds, not all cruise ships are secure for passengers.

Does it sound disturbing? Then you have to click on the next page, because we’re going to talk about all these shocking things you didn’t know about cruise ships.

  1. In 2023, 25.1 billion people are expected to cruise, so if you look at only 60 injuries, 90 crimes (including 60 assaults), and either 3 deaths a month (or even 3 per week ~ [but I donโ€™t trust that source]) a cruise seems like a very safe vacation.

After seeing a show and having drinks, you donโ€™t have to worry about drunk drivers or getting a dui yourself. You donโ€™t have to cook for a week, so no kitchen mishaps. If there are activities such as a rock wall, there is an employee there to assist you with safety gear and proper suggestions.

I have a cruise scheduled the end of April. After over 20 cruises, I am ready to enjoy the cruise ship life ~ I donโ€™t even care where we go, I spend most of my time enjoying my balcony room, the piano bar, the shows, and of course the food.

  2. Theron Wilson TACKER

I went on a cruise to Alaska on Royal Carribean Lines and it was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone.

  3. of course they have a morgue. better than someone dying and just leaving in a room or throwing overboard.. people die everyday. and crimes can happen anywhere as well as you can get hurt anywhere. I got hurt in a cruise ship the first day m, but I just slipped in some water because my flip flops were super slippery and hurt my arm had it in a sling. and also you can get bedbugs anywhere you go as well. so no this doesn’t scare me. cruises are a blast.

  4. So much of what you say here could when you are driving or walking down a busy street in a large city. Be aware of what is going around you and do not take silly chances.
Bugs can be taken caye of by certain sprays or bring your own sheets. Unfortunately this happens at home in peoples mattreresses with unarare people.

  5. As one who has been on 38 cruises-some 230 nights at sea, I feel that I am qualified to comment. The scenarios described tend to emphasize the worse cases. Certainty, Iโ€™ve experienced smallest cabins & bathrooms, bad weather and choppy seas, but rarely have any other items have occurred. So go on your cruises with anticipation of having a great time. Chances are youโ€™ll not be disappointed.

  6. I love cruising better than any other vacation! There are risks anywhere you go and I feel cruising is as safe as anywhere to go.

  7. The information was certainly eye opening for sure. No, I think I will mark cruising on a ship off my bucket list! As well as maybe flying after all their tragedies!

  8. Do you fly? Do you take an airplane when you go on vacation?you can have fire, flood, mudslides, earthquakes where you are, even at your home. Look at Hawaii, California to start. You can be walking ,or in a mall, or in the doctorโ€™s office and get infected, or get shot on your way. You can be in an airplane that can crash anytime. All these things can happen anytime and anywhere. Do you bring with you slippers or bacteria disinfectants and sterilize the bathroom or shower in hotels, er the commodes before and after you use it, anywhere? Do you go to movies or ride a bus? You can get bed bugs there or bacteria and fungus by just seating. I sometimes enjoy myself in casinos. I see a lot of people use the urinal and commode and do not wash their hands before leaving. What you are saying is very true but so stupid to say it that way. You should instead suggest precautionary measures, to be careful outside or even in your home โ€ฆ.. always, not to wear street shoes in the house because the streets are filthy, etc. Good luck!
