1. Tennessee

Among the most violent states in the Union is Tennessee. The Volunteer State has an overall crime rate of 31.65 per 1,000 residents and a population of around 6,917,000. Over 200,000 criminal incidents have been reported in the past few years, of which 46,428 were violent felonies. The most frequent type of crime, nevertheless, is property crime, with theft from people and burglary being the two main issues.

Even though Tennessee is a state that is expanding and changing, unfortunately, many parts of big cities like Memphis and Nashville continue to have high rates of violent crime.

2. Louisiana 

Recent reports show that Louisiana ranks right above the national average when it comes to felonies or brutal burglaries. Violent crimes like murder are significantly more common than the national norm in places like Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans. In comparison to the national average, New Orleans’ crime rate is 150% higher than of 2022.

The issue is not just violent crime. Property crimes, including theft and break-ins, occurred at a rate of 29.71 per 1,000 people in 2021, which is significantly higher than the national average.
