Maybe you were not expecting to see Slovenia on the list, but here it is. Even though Slovenia is a major US ally in NATO and, even more, a member of the EU, the majority of Slovenians responded in a survey that they don’t approve of the leadership of the US.
When it was a part of Yugoslavia, the country had strong ties to the Soviet Union. And because of this, we believe that the citizens of Slovenia are still affected by the tensions that existed during the Cold War.
Moreover, Slovenia was hit pretty hard by the financial crisis, and this might be another reason for the poor ratings regarding the approval of the USA.
