Monika Danneman took this picture of the singer with his favorite guitar on September 17, 1970, in the back garden of her apartment. No one knew this picture would be the last one to ever show the musician, as Hendrix passed away the next day in London from barbiturate-related asphyxia.
While there have been speculations that the singer had taken his own life, there was no indication of such a thing. A lot of people believe this was the result of an unfortunate series of events, as Hendrix mixed a number of drugs, including a significant amount of sleeping pills that made him vomit in his sleep, and he choked on them.
