Hurricanes In The US
Hurricane season is not something new for anyone who lives in America, however, this year saw records being continually broken with 2020 seasonal storms as the year saw 30 named storms (highest on record), 13 hurricanes (second highest on record), and six major hurricanes (tied for second highest on record).
This all, along with the ongoing pandemic, had a devastating impact on the economy with some estimates suggesting that not only the hurricanes themselves, but the wildfires caused by said hurricanes, amounted to more than $60bn in damages. With a hotter climate caused by carbon emission, we can only expect it to get worse as time goes on.
