2. Rancho Mirage, California

Located in Riverside County, and nestled between Cathedral City and Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage (or just Mirage) is not only famous for its world-class golf courses and exclusive country clubs but some of the famous legends who lived there. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Lucille Ball, Bob Hope, Billie Dove, Gerald, and Betty Ford all called this place home.

One of the main reasons seniors retire here is that it feels like a vacation all year round in this resort city. From hiking, horseback riding, and cycling to playing tennis, swimming, or just lounging by the pool, there are plenty of things to do in this stunning area.

Total population: 17,975

you are hooked on Florida with its high humidity and high temperatures, what gives, payola???

  2. After 38 years we left Florida and moved to South Carolina were life is much more affordable and people are nicer. I think this article needs an update.

  3. Several of these places in FL were negatively affected by Hurricane Ian. Not sure they are that good of a place to live right now.
