Mount Shasta, California
Even if it holds the title of “mountain,” Mount Shasta is actually an active volcano that sits in the Cascade Range in northern California. The Cascade Range is known to be the host of various active volcanoes, despite some of them collapsing and others appearing in their stead. Mount Shasta is one such volcano, as it came to be after another one collapsed more than 300,000 years ago.
Mount Shasta is the largest of all the volcanoes in the Cascade Range. Sitting at 14,613 feet at its highest point, this volcano still has its peak covered in ice and snow today, but this does little to appease the settlements around it. They know of the power of the volcano, and they never underestimate it.
Since the pattern of its eruptions has been shown to repeat every 600 to 800 years, people are always expecting a new event.
