2. The Electric Chair

This method of execution was invented in the U.S., and it was used as a death sentence for a lot of convicts. Apparently this invention was an alternative to hanging, and it was first used in 1890. Basically, the person is strapped to a wooden chair that is connected to a high level of electricity through electrodes placed on their legs and hands. This method has been used in our country for decades now, and the first convict that was killed by electrocution was William Kemmler at Auburn Prison in New York. He received the death sentence after he brutally murdered his wife with an axe.
