A calamity that shook the entire city of Long Beach, California happened on March 10th, 1933. The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale, and it killed no less than 120 people.

And humans were not the only ones that were destroyed. The tremor damaged roughly 100 schools, and more than half of them were completely ruined. The good news is that when the incident happened, there were no people in the buildings. If the kids and the teachers had been at school during those dangerous times, the number of deaths could have reached the thousands, according to experts.

As for money, the whole quake was estimated to be roughly $50 million in damages, as data says.
