3. Warsaw – Poland

Standing on the River Vistula in east-central Poland, Warsaw traced its origins to a small fishing town in Masovia in the 13th century, but it would be the 16th century before Warsaw would really come to prominence. The city became important when the first Polish sovereign from the House of Vasa, Sigismund III Vasa, decided to move the Polish capital from Krakรณw to Warsaw, making it the de facto capital of the Polishโ€“Lithuanian Commonwealth until 1795.

In the 19th century, when the industrial revolution arrived in Poland, the city saw a population explosion, making it one of the largest and most densely populated cities in Europe. Sadly, Germany would rain fire from the sky on September 1, 1939, using the air raid on Warsaw as their declaration of war on the rest of Europe.

These pics show man’s inhumanity. ‘Humanity’s inhumanity’! There will never be peace on earth…so stop saying it in your Christmas cards. It’s a joke.
