Usually, storms are getting official names from the U.S. government, but floods don’t. However, the persistent heavy rains that accumulated in the Mississippi and Missouri rivers became known by everyone as the Great Flood of 1993. The National Weather Service saw it as the “largest and most significant flood event that ever occurred in the United States.
An enormous swath of the Midwest was directly affected, as much of the river economy was completely shut down. Not to mention that barge traffic was completely stopped for two months. All the big bridges across Missouri and Mississippi were completely inaccessible. Even more, commercial airports were completely flooded.

This happened when there was alot of hurricaines, and hotels were toppling over like dominoes. it was said that this is a lot for fema to handle.
